The white jade of the bear's body was especially selected for it's translucency and delicate color that glimmers in the light. The carving is simply spectacular - you will think every hair has been carved separately - a sign of the unique and unmatched quality of this piece. Our Polar stands on a big slab of black and gray labradorite with flashes of blue fire appearing in the stone. This natural effect is called 'schiller' and it has been described as an arctic Aurora Borealis
